Kindergartners Visit Stone Zoo
As snow fell over Londonderry one morning during last week’s public school vacation, a caravan of cars pulled out of the World of Discovery parking lot. Several parents, a few teachers and staff, and well over 20 Kindergartners were heading down to Stoneham, Massachusetts. Their destination: Stone Zoo.
After a 30 minute trip down I-93, away from the rain and snow, and just two minutes off Exit 35, the caravan arrived at the zoo. The parking lot lay empty under a blanket of clouds. While students were excited and anticipating the wild animals, the parents were slightly wary that the weather would hold out as planned. Once admission was paid and the gates were opened, the group entered the 26-acre zoo.
