Pettengill Rd Brush Fire

Photos by Cory Nader
Friday Afternoon April 23rd at about 5:42pm Londonderry Fire got reports of the smell of fire in northern Londonderry near Manchester. It was even thought that it was in Manchester until it was found in the land between the Pettengill Road stub and the new Airport access road.

In the end it consumed 3 acres of brush in the remote section, of industrial zoned land in our new gateway district.

First detected by a “odor in the area” of Charlotte and Lansdowne. Londonderry Fire began looking at first by walking down trails to find the fire from the west. A resident called in at 5:46 and indicated those reporting to the fire from Manchester and Londonderry should take Brown Ave to Brent, to Surrey there a trail leads to the brush fire.
