Orchard Fans May 11, 2010 Londonderry NH
Those lucky enough to live near the orchards in Londonderry were awoken to the thump, thump, thump of what some may have thought was the National Guard Black Hawks out of Concord making a landing in the central part of town early this morning.
While North Londonderry and West Londonderry remained warm enough, both Sunnycrest and Mack’s Apples ran the huge fans in the orchards last night. Outfitted with commercial Ford engines in some cases 487 cubic inches, these units drive the blades to push air over the orchards and rotate to make sure all the crops are protected.
